Description

No experience is needed to try scuba diving in just half a day. Experience the thrill of a lifetime as you descend beneath the surface of our crystal clear waters. We’ll teach you the basics and a few skills in the comfort of our diver friendly training pool before you take your first trip out to one of Grenada’s fantastic coral reefs with your PADI Instructor. A fun, safe and unforgettable experience for the whole family. This is not a certification course.

Phase One: Independent Study (e-Learning)

Prepare for your Discover Scuba Diving experience with PADI DSD eLearning™. Use your computer or mobile device to learn diving safety fundamentals before you get in the water.

Contact a PADI Dive Shop or PADI Professional for access to DSD eLearning and to schedule your first scuba diving experience.

Phase Two: With Your Instructor

A PADI Professional will fit you with scuba gear and explain how to use it. In a pool or calm water environment. You’ll practice basic diving skills followed by free time to play underwater or go on a guided open water dive.

1 Day Scuba Diving Experience – once you sign up, we send over the online e-learning material and required forms to be completed prior to arriving. You will join our PADI trained instructor for a morning in the pool practicing skills before brief break for lunch and finally an open water dive with your instructor.

Why take this tour?

This PADI Discover Scuba Diving course is a chance for you to try scuba diving and see if it is something you would like to pursue. We offer the course daily with prior reservation. This experience is an introductory course and is not a certification course, however it can be credited toward a certification. Reach out to us for more information about this.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be able to swim?

You do not need to be an Olympic swimmer to take a DSD; however, you should feel comfortable in the water and be able to maintain yourself at the surface.

Will I be in a pool or diving in the ocean?

The Discover Scuba Diving experience takes place in a swimming pool or in any body of water that has pool-like conditions. This means good visibility and calm conditions, so you can have the most comfortable experience possible. There is also an optional open water dive for those who want to take it. The open water dive is a great opportunity to see the local aquatic life!

How deep will I go underwater?

First of all, it’s important to know that you will not go any deeper than you feel comfortable with. The maximum depth for a Discover Scuba Diving experience is 6 meters (20 feet) for the initial pool session and 12 meters (40 feet) if you do the optional open water dive, but that does not mean you have to go that deep.

Who will teach my DSD?

Discover Scuba Diving experiences are conducted by PADI Instructors, if you are going to also do the optional open water dive,or qualified PADI Divemasters may conduct the experience if you are only completing pool dive. PADI Pros undergo rigorous training and exams to ensure that they can safely accompany and teach those who are new to diving. Medical Statement

A PADI 'Medical Statement' will be required to be completed for all divers which is included in the Discover Scuba Diving e-Learning.

Cancellation Policy

This payment is non-refundable within 7 days of the first scheduled day of diving/PADI Training with Dive Grenada.

My wife and I got our open water driver certification with Dive Grenada. The whole experience was fantastic! All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to make sure we were properly equipped and comfortable with every step of the training. Every dive was in beautiful, warm, and calm locations with loads of sea life see. We highly recommend Dive Grenada and can't wait to dive with them again!

We went diving with Dive Grenada in May. This is by far the best dive shop in Grenada!!! Neal and Allie are phenomenal instructors and super nice. It was me and my girlfriend’s first time diving and they made sure we were super prepared. Not only are they great instructors who prioritize safety and a fun experience, the groups you dive with are small. Other dive shops dive with 20+ people, where as dove with 5 people which allowed for a more personalized experience and allowed Neal and Allie to ensure we were comfortable, safe and able to see all of the beautiful marine life. They constantly found beautiful and rare fish for us to see, all while constantly checking to make sure we weren’t having any issues. I will definitely be back to dive with Dive Grenada. 10/10 experience even as someone who has never went diving before. Highly recommend!!!

Absolutely perfect place to get dive certified. The owners, instructors, dive boat captain and everyone involved was the best. We dove three separate reefs as part of the open water dive course and they were incredible. Beautiful, healthy reefs teeming with life. Dive gear was top of the line and the location at the end of Grand Anse beach was perfect. Highly recommend this dive shop for all things diving and snorkeling. Thanks so much for helping me finally achieve my certification. It couldn’t have been better. I’ll be back!
